The HyperX Cloud Alpha S builds upon the success of the original analogue Cloud Alpha, a definite fan favorite from the moment it saw the light of day. It's based on the same design, which means it's built like a tank and superbly comfortable. It also uses the same dual chamber speaker driver design, so it sounds just as powerful, warm, and accurate, and it's every bit as good for gaming, movies, and music listening.

Although I do like it a fair amount, there are a few things I can’t shake when it comes to the HyperX Cloud Alpha S. If you’re expecting a gaming headset that impresses you just as much as the original Cloud Alpha - like I was - you’re probably going to be a little disappointed. The small improvements and additions here only barely feel like they cover the difference in the price-tag. The Cloud Alpha S is a better headset that the original but it's not a particularly different one.

People looking for a single headset for all their devices would need to look at some other HyperX models but for a something that is specifically PC this is a great option. Personal opinion is the 7.1 mode enhances the sound for just about everything that was tested during the review process and the Cloud Alpha S is a great headset for PC gaming and listening to music.
