Google Pixel Buds A-Series

Google's new Pixel Buds A might as well replace the older model entirely, as the much lower price doesn't come with any serious feature compromises.

These in-ears offer a lot for your money, including good sound performance, a great case, comfortable design, and deeply integrated Google Assistant. But external isolation is limited by design and there's no volume control on the 'buds themselves.

If you can live without things like wireless charging and noise cancelling - and want to prioritise smart features - then the Pixel Buds A-Series are the ones to buy.

That said, the A-Series’ big draw remains their seamless integration of Google Assistant, and here they can’t be beaten. As long as the issues that affected the 2020 model don’t resurface, the Pixel Buds A-Series are the buds to buy for those that can’t live without Google’s super-smart voice assistant.

For not a huge outlay, you get everything the pricier Pixel Buds 2 provided as far as Google Assistant abilities go, but with an all-round sound performance that stands up there with the best in the market at this price. Though they’re aimed primarily at Android owners, we can quite happily recommend the Google Pixel Buds A-Series to iOS users too, if they are in the market for some comfortable, reliable, good-sounding in-ears.

For the money these offer a decent range of features to Android owners and, particularly, Google Pixel users.

The Google Pixel Buds A-Series are a solid cheap true wireless pair. Their clear and detailed sound is not the most adventurous, but the design and features are solid and Google Assistant integration is excellent.

The Pixel Buds A-Series haven’t fully stamped out the biggest issue that dragged down their pricier older sibling, and the level of outside noise your tunes compete against will turn some people away. But even with some of the things Google left out, you’re getting a better overall product for less money.
